TREC is a fun, inclusive sport that all types of horse/pony and rider can enjoy.

TREC events are run all year but in different formats in the summer and winter. Full TRECs take place in the summer and consist of three phases: the POR (orienteering or hack with a map!), MA which is a slow canter and fast walk and thirdly the PTV or obstacle phase. Obstacles are designed to replicate the skills needed for hacking out eg: riding under low branches or through narrow places, up and down slopes, popping over logs etc. Arena TREC events are held in the winter and consist of just the MA and PTV phases

TREC training can add a new dimension to your schooling whatever you do with your horse or pony and it’s fun, builds confidence and improves your partnership. At the clinic you will learn how to tackle a variety of TREC obstacles confidently, for example Corridor, Low Branches, Neck Rein, Bridge, S bend.

Liz Beddows has been competing successfully in TREC for 16 years coming top of the National Level 2A Individual League 2018 & 2019 and winning the Level 2A Individual in the National Championships in 2018 and the Welsh Championships in 2019 & 2021. She is a judge and TD (Technical Delegate) for TREC GB and has been running events and training for 12 years as TREC4All. Liz has a calm and relaxed style of coaching and enjoys introducing newcomers to TREC.

Pony Stars

Pony Stars is a Junior Challenge Awards helping under 12s to discover, develop and nurture their love for ponies and the outdoors. With over 100 topics for children to explore, Pony Stars will ignite a passion for ponies, build knowledge and cement friendships that will last a lifetime.

As part of the programme, each child will receive their very own My Challenge Book to log their achievements. As they progress through the various challenges there will be stickers, badges and rosettes up for grabs too to keep them engaged and motivated.

With four key groups, Pony Stars enables long-term progression with a range of activities that will develop knowledge, skills and self-confidence. In each group your child will work through sets of challenges that make up topics within set themes.
